Key accomplishments

I am a Ph.D. student in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Virginia, USA. I  am defending my thesis this Feb 2024 and actively looking for open positions that can make use of my skills in algorithm design, machine learning, optimization, programming and telecom networks.

I proposed application of a custom metaheuristic algorithm called Jaya algorithm to deep neural networks training that improved accuracy over the conventional Adam optimizer when dealing with billion sample datasets. I have proposed algorithm solutions to NP-Hard resource allocation problems and the works have been published in reputed journals and conferences. Prior to my Ph.D., I have proposed variations to optimization algorithms and also applied them for system performance optimization under different constraints. I have also proposed novel scheduler system using multi-attribute decision making methods to deal with problems having multiple alternatives under conflicting attributes. My method could improve the network admissions by 28% while almost increasing the network utilization by 100% over the traditional approach.

With all of these, I have a research mind as is evident from my degree and publications that naturally makes me curious about thing and dig deeper until a solution is found while making me learn new things. One of my strengths is to work with cross-domain ideas to solve problems which I believe helps me to connect with diverse technical people to lead to a final solution/product.
