I am writing to express my interest in this Generative AI opportunity, as advertised. With over 10 years of experience in IT services consulting, including a substantial tenure at IBM as a Data Scientist, I am excited about the opportunity.

In my current role, I have honed my expertise in generative AI using large language models with open-source ones from Hugging Face, Watsonx from IBM and Open AI services from Microsoft Azure. Leading a multi-modal Retrieval-Augmented-Generation based asset with proficiency in statistical programming using Python, combined with my experience in inference serving and finetuning models (e.g. Flag embedding, T5, LLaMA 2 on EC2), directly mirrors the technical requirements of the position.

Previously, I have led conversational AI assets where, I led the team and solution design, while also contributing individually to the development. I have used IBM Watson Assistant, Azure Luis / QnA Maker and AWS Lex for various client use cases. I have also worked with businesses to analyse and increase user adoption. I have created digital human avatars for chatbots for clients.

My passion for staying current in AI, NLP, ML and DL through reading research papers & blogs, participating in and building communities (on slack channels, reddit, twitter and elsewhere), and as demonstrated through various certifications (IBM Watsonx.ai Black Belt Squad Member, Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals, IBM Xlence Advocate etc.), aligns with the role’s requirement of staying abreast of the latest developments.

My work leading Watson and other hyperscaler clouds based cognitive computing solutions and involvement in projects across various industries (Oil & Gas, Retail, Telecom, etc.) have equipped me with the ability to effectively collaborate with multi-disciplinary cross-geographical teams and integrate AI models seamlessly into projects.

My managerial experience extends to technical leadership, stakeholder discussions, project monitoring, and delivery, ensuring compliance with quality, time, and budgetary standards. My agile methodology expertise, combined with certifications in Scrum Product Ownership, Enterprise Design Thinking, and Azure AI Fundamentals, further showcase my ability to lead end-to-end solution delivery. In fact, I have received commendation as ISL (IBM Software Labs) Agilist of the year 2023.

I am particularly drawn to this role due to its focus on leveraging AI to transform business operations and processes. My background in advanced analytics, conversational AI, and document intelligence, coupled with a PhD in Strategy from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore and my ability to conceptualize and deliver complex AI solutions, positions me as an ideal candidate to contribute to driving innovation through AI.
